Trend: Craft Beer Shows Up at the Ballpark
Craft beer is exploding in popularity, and now accounts for over 5% of all U.S. beer sales, according the the Brewers Association. As the masses start to appreciate real brew, craft styles are showing up in spots that used to be the bastion of macro-lager lore, like baseball stadiums.
Even though Budweiser is still the official beer of the MLB, there are plenty of parks across the country serving up great options outside the regular big beer mainstays. The New York Times lists several in their recent trend piece on the topic, including Erie Railbender Ale (PNC Park in Pittsburgh), Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat (Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City) and Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald (Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia).
It's a great time to be a lover of beer and baseball.
